what style of header gaskets to use?
I just installed a pair of TPI long tube headers with Random Technology cats and cat back system. It sounds and performs great but with a noticable left bank exaust leak between the header and the head. I installed OEM gaskets but now I should of thought it through. What kind of gaskets did you use that works the best. thanks, brent.

I resued the factory exhaust gaskets; all I did was take some scotch brite and rub the rust stain off them (from the cast iron manifolds, the gaskets are actually stainless steel). They worked great. You may need to check the torque on your header bolts, sometimes they loosen up after a few miles.

Percy's ''Dead Soft'' Header Gaskets from jegs - had them installed when I put the new motor in - they looked too thick to fit but I think they're sposda work like a sponge almost... so far so good...

I used fel-pro replacement gaskets. No problem. If I had known that the stockers were multi layer I would have just reused them. I kept them if their is a next time situation. I would lay a straight edge on the header to make sure it is not tweaked.

thanks guys for the advice. I found that the left header flange was slightly bowed causing the leak and the OEM gasket did not seal. I found a pair of fel-pro gaskets that might do the trick. If that dont work I will beat it with a big hammer.

Get it decked at a machine shop. I wouldnt want to see you have to do the job 3 times.
