Default To dump after the Y-pipe?

I have the spohn tq arm mount and can't run duals. So my question is that I have a cutout at the end on my I-pipe and what if I cut it off and put a bullet muffler in there and dumped it? It should be the same setup that I have now but just dumping all the exhaust out at the axle. I have the mufflex Y with the 4" collector that puts it down to 3". Should I stay with 3" or should I put on a 4" pipe and dump with the bullet? Thanks.
