Wierd exhaust leak i can't find
I developed an exhaust leak and having problems finding it. Its definitely coming from somewhere around the motor. Seems like it would be right where the headers are connecting to the motor. But the weird thing is it occurs after running the car for 15 minutes of so.. if i park and let it sit for a while it stops. Then 15 minutes later is begins again. Does this have something to do with the heat expanding something then causing the leak?
Is there an easy way to find the leak?
Think i'm gonna replace the gaskets this weekend.. **** better work..

Get some heavy towels and hold them up to the tailpipes. When some pressure builds up in the exhaust it will try to escape through the leak. You should be able to see some moisture escaping and definitely hear where it's leaking.

Or better yet, put some bananas in the tail pipes
If you cannot find the exhaust leak, it might not be an exhaust leak.

But I wouldn't want to choke my engine. I already had an 80 series flowmaster muffler on there The exhaust leak shouldn't be that hard to find.

damn ya'll have some sick minds. just my kinda humor.
make sure the block is cold and spray the header areas with break cleaner right after startup. it works for a vacuum leak, might as well work for a header leak. just may burn off a hell of a lot quicker after 30-45 seconds. i had to replace a gasket a week or so ago after some stock bolts backed out and my gasket went, i replaced the bolts with locking stage 8's. used a new GM MLS gasket. worked like a charm!!
