Default Belts Won't Stop Squeeling

I had a belt that was cracked and squeeling (Especially when I accelerated), so I replaced it just a few moments ago. The squeeling has quieted some, but has not entirely stopped. If I throw water on it while its running the belt quiets down to a whisper. Any suggestions on what may be the noisey culprit, please let me know. Thanks in advance.

If you search round you will find some of the idler pulleys were defective in certain models and there is a sevice bulletin out. You might want to look into changin the idler pulley that solved my belt noises. Also Dont forget the A/C belt hiding in the bottom it will usually go out faster than the other. Hope you get it. Good luck

It only started a few months ago. It was quiet when I bought the car last spring. I wondered if it was the tensioner or the other belt. Forgive the stupid question, but which one is the idler pulley, and where did you get yours?

Oh yeah, and I did notice that the tensioner seemed a little loose.

Ya, I am going though the same thing, my ten. pully is the suspect. I have fairly new belts, good luck and hope you get it back up and running with out the bird in the hood.

Thanks, me too. I hate to cruise around with it squeeling like it is, lol. I saw a tensioner on LG for about $125 or so. I may look into that.

I'm putting on an ASP U/D pulley in a coupole weeks and replacing both belts. Dealership installed a new upper belt tensioner. I still have the bird, so will let you know if the pulley/belt change helps.
