Default Me vs lightning

Ok...so I got into some street racing a few days ago and beat this guys built up 84 monte carlo. It ran good for an old peice and I got him by about 3 cars.
Anyway he is like the second fastest guy in this small town and the supposed 'KING' is this 99 lightning. After I raced the monte he said I should bet the guy with the lightning 100 bucks because i beat him worse than the lightning did.

Well I ran into the lightning last night but didnt have my car...we are supposed to race on friday.

he said it had an exhaust and a pulley of some kind. I think he might be hiding some stuff but im not sure.
The supercharger was louder than hell....i could hear it winding like crazy.
the truck looked fast but didnt seem to jump out of the hole that good...from the looks of it im sure I could get a jump on him on the start....sure didnt have the snap my car has from the looks of it.

We are gonna go from like a 15mph roll...neither of us can launch.

Whats gonna happen?
My car has what is in the sig...no tune yet...but it runs STRONG

Anyone else?
Fom what Ive read...lightly modded lightnings can be killer.

I dont want to lose 100 bucks.

In other words...what would he have to have done to take me if we both have smooth runs to about 110...or around 1/4 from a slow dig.

He might have a KB blower. But still hard to get them past mid 12's. You should take him.

Having both vehicles at different times I'll put it to you this way...my 03 Lightning on 20's (heavy, slowing it down but better traction) would pull cammed LS1's up to 80, after that the dumpster aerodynamics kicked in and they would pull back and put me at their door. As far as mods I had a 6lb pulley, chip, cai, and custom E-Fans. From a slow roll I wouldn't put money against it.

L's actually are pretty good off the line if the driver knows what he's doing. Just don't let him him get away early and you should reel him in. Kinda surprised about pulling on cammed LS1's though.

So was I trust me. I thought for sure that they would pull me but that didn't happen until after 80-90mph.

Lightly modded those things can be very fast. If he has a KB, some good tires, and a small shot . I would try to find out his exact mods before I put money on the race, especially since you are untuned and leaving some power on the table.

Good luck and get a video! No one ever seems to actually race when they ask about it here! It drives me nuts!

Again good luck, I would bet on you personally just make sure you do a 1/4 so at least its kind of fair.
