The LS2 is cheap and works great.
The stock Ls2 will work. It will cost you a bit of HP between 1-and 5 HP over some of the aftermarket TB's. Most folks report the tuning is easier with a GM TB over the aftermarket. We tuned the car we're racing with one of the first TB's out (Nick Williams #2 TB). In speaking with Nick he now has a TB which he reports has all the development issues resolved. So, he may be one to speak with also.
