Default For stock, non-flycut bottom end, bigger valves vs. decking to raise cr...your opinon

I have been debating in my head lately here which is the better solution for a head package on a bone stock bottom end. Now obviously, this situation rules out the monster cams, as they are right to the P to V limit as it is. But for guys running slightly more modest bumpsticks, who can afford a bit of decking OR larger valves, but not necessarily both. I guess if I had to put in a specific phrase: Would it be more beneficial to go to a 2.02/1.60 setup, or stick with stock size valves and deck the head .020-.030? Any opinions and experiances welcome.

Have you just considered running 5.3l heads? They offer the bumped up compression without needing to cut the head That's the main reason the 5.3l cores are so popluar to port & polish. We sell the PRC 5.3l heads with a MiniStick 235/240 camshaft that clears fine & made right around 460rwhp with a ls6 intake & no pistons cutting required!!
