Now THAT was cool. Nice injector shots.
Does anyone know what those numbers translate to?
I think they can range from 600-800 hp dep. on setup. :)

That is wicked. I was watching F1 on Speed Channel and they said the top teams this year have pushed past 950 HP with Ferrari "reportedly" making 1000 HP.

they turn about 18k?? so its gotta be stressful

that is more of the stress tester...looked like they had a hockenheim map setup and run the motor through race simulation to see if it will last under load for the full course of the race.

Oh my. Good find Shane.
At high RPMs it looked like the air around the air around the injectors was being compressed :eek2:

made of 5000 pieces, with 1500 of them moving? did I mess up translating?
70 liters per 100 kilometers (of fuel I'm guessing) and holds 12 liters of oil.....
15 days to assemble the motor and 6 weeks to make a ?vilbrequin?(haven't seen this word before, I'll look it up)
You'll have to excuse me if I made any mistakes. My french is...... poor (if you want to be generous).

Funny thing is they have to make those motors last 2 race weekends now, and that is turning allmost 20,000rpm. Some nascar teams are haveing a hard time makeing a motor last one race at 9k rpm.

The reason the nascar engines have a hard time is because they are a push rod engine and the F1 are all roller bearding like sport bike

Yeah that's one of those "Track Simulation dynos" i watched a segment with one in it on speed channel not too long ago. It's insane the amount of testing they do on those before they even stick the thing in a car.
Hehe i want an F1 car with integrated fog lamps and LED tail lights...think it'll be street legal? :jest: *dreams of taking one on the auto-bahn*

I don’t think that is a fair comparison now it is man.
Also who was talking about the air being compressed?
I read something that the beginning of last season the cars produced a mild boost from the intake area that is above the driver until F1 stepped in and put a screen in there to put a stop to that
