Default biggest, fattest, nastiest tires on 17" wheels

I would really love to see some pics of the beefiest back tires that you can fit on a 17"X9.5" wheel. Who has the fattest, tallest combo?

Forgive me if there have been multiple threads on this but I have only been part of this site for a little while.

Thanks....Jess

Do you want sticky? Or just big for looks? If you want traction, try these in 275/40R17:

If you want a wide tire with a nice looking tread pattern, try the Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 in 275/40ZR17. It's an excellent tire for all-around use, but it's not cheap.

Trying to squeeze on a tire that's too wide for the rim could actually result in a smaller contact patch than a properly sized tire though. I've seen a 315 tire on a 9.5" wheel before and it looked odd, the same car had a 275 width on the front which made the rears look even worse.

If you want something big and tall, get some 15" Bogarts or Welds and run a 28" tire.

my friend has 285s on his 10" rear wheels and they look perfect, maybe even a little wide, so for the 11"s i would go with the 285s

An 11" wheel needs a 315/35R17, a 9" or 9.5" needs a 275/40R17.

Be careful if you're looking at Nittos - they tend to run smaller than most other tires. I'm running 315 Nitto DRs' on my 10 spokes with no problems. They are a bit wide, but IMO the 275's looked because they seemed narrower than the 275 F1's. I think they make a 295 which is probably perfect, but I didn't know that when I got mine.

You probably want to stick to 275's or 285's with most other brands though.

PM me if you want a pic of the wheel off the car w/315 Nitto DR's.

if its an 11 inch wheel you really need to put on 315's or atleast something bigger than 275's
