Shouldn't be too much to rebuild. I would pull it out and have your tranny guy go through it. If it was already built you are really just paying to freshin it up. Not a full build up.

are you sure you have enough fluid in it? mine did this when I didn't have enough fluid. and rebuild are cheap. If you only need clutches and stuff. bout 4-500 for the rebuild. Where are you located?

im located in hays kansas. when i checked the fluid with the car on it said there was almost nothing in there. but when the car was off it was full which way am i suppose to check it. the transmission place here charges out the *** for a rebuild my friends cost him 1300 and he even had his own converter.

Check it when it is on and in drive! If you check it when it is off, all the fluid will drain back into the pan, giving incorrect readings. Sounds like you need to add fluid, hopefully yopur trans isn't toast from lack of it.

Depends what color fluid it is. If it's red I would use some dextronIII if it's blue it's amsoil I believe. The good stuff. You could just put regular tranny fluid. People been using that type of trans fuild for forever. and 400-500 is what I got mine for. Here in Dallas, Tex.
