Got lucky as hell. pulled up to a red light next to 2 mustangs this afternoon, I had a sweet ass launch, the older mustang got a shitty one and smoked his tires up, the mach 1 had a decent one, but i got a 1/2 right off the start, took it to 100 and had 3 or so cars on him, i shut down and he kept goin weavin through traffic and shit, guess he didn't wanna quit, the other stang turned off...I love my new Spec 3

I hate when the other person weaves through traffic like that after you shut down. Do they think they win?

Mach's are fast for sure, and rare, honestly here you see more 03's then Mach's for sure. <=== Is that because of a close price range or something?

Nice kill though!

WHITETXMACH Are you REALLY challenging him with a straight-shift running only 311 rwhp/ 326 rwtq SAE ???? You're either not telling something in your signature or you're on another planet pal. Which is it???? If this is what you've got, those are respectable numbers for a stock Mach1, but, if your car is mod'd real heavy, what do you actually have in it and what kind of timeslip have you pulled?

Now, HOSS, I hope you're bringing more than a stock LS1 to the table here. Those mach1's I have raced and they're quick against a stock LS1 what do YOU have, my freind?

Come on gentlemen ... let's put the facts on the table to see if this would be a worthwhile race. :drive:

I wasnt referring to you, as we have talked before. Moreso the thousands of idiots ONLINE who think a i/e mach is gods gift to the world (members of mach1registry.com) Not all over there are bad apples, but upwards of 60%

BTW i'll run anytime, anywhere. Im at vans wednesdays and saturdays. Just wont be there tonight, as i am leaving for vegas in a few hours.

Bring a video camera :)

I dont make it out to Vans too often, far to ghetto for me, especially on Saturdays. There are also thousands of idiots online who think an i/e LS1 is gods gifts as well. I was just defending the Mach name :)

I am down to run anytime, given I am not at work. I can bring a camera, you can be my first run on the bottle.

well, not to long ago there was this guy that just bought a mach 1 and he was just talking all of this shit how he could smoke me. then i told him that it myn wasn't stock (not like it really matters) and he was still talking shit. i just got to work when it happened so i never did race, but i haven't seen him since. i mean i don't have a lot of shit on my car but it is still pretty fast. I have also talked to 2 other people that had them and they were pretty much doing the same thing. i am sure not all of them are like that, but all the ones i have met are.

There are Mach 1's in the 11's with that same rwhp/rwtq.

What does your car run in the 1/4???

JEB99TA
04-06-2005, 09:35 PM
Angus66, I'm not running 12's. I can tell you that.

I was speaking from racing a particular Mach1 when my car was running mid 12's. He gave me a great run up until about 70 mph, then, I barely got away from the guy. He definitely was fast.

For your arguement that there are Mach's in the 11's with 311RWHP/326RWTQ ... post a couple of timeslips. I'd be interested in seeing them. A manual transmission Mach1 with those numbers ain't in the 11's. Possibly a 'factory freak' or two with an automatic and a big stall. Anyone can make 11's on juice.

WhiteTXMach > you'll be making some damned good times with even a small 100 shot. I won't ask what you have, but, a PM with that info would be cool. Up to you my friend.

No big stall, no juice, no internal engine work whatsoever - just the right combo.

This guy is a good example - he has never even hit 311rwhp/326rwtq if I'm not mistaken, and he's been in the 11's for some over a year & a half I believe:

Man my car was down like 10 to 15 RW last time i was at the dyno.. I was barely able to scrap up 297hp & 315tq.. So i put the iridium plugs back in, charged my battery back up (was almost dead last time) and dropped the Tranny fluid level back to 3.2 qts. where it belongs.. I also added a half tank of "fresh" 93 octane to replace the small amount of 104 left in there from last season.. 1 of these things mustve worked cause i was back up to a handful of pulls in the 306 & 325 range so i feel alot better now..

Kinda sucks when for a year or more your car easily does 300+ RWHP & suddenly 1 day outta nowhere you can barely scrape up a 297 & 315.. So i guess im at least back to where i was before..

I still dont know for sure which 1 of the things i "changed" caused the problem?? Im thinking it was the plugs.. I went with a colder set at a slightly different gap & the car felt different no doubt.. OK so im ready, lets go racin! :)

Well HOSS, this is your thread, man. What do you think about an 11 second Mach1 with no power adders, i.e., s/c/, turbo, nitrous ... in the 11's ??? I think with numbers like 311/326 it could be done ... but, only if you cut about 500 lbs of the car, 4.30 gears and 315's out back ... under near perfect track conditions ... with a really good driver. Of course, doing the same to an LS1 with the 'right' setup, making the same numbers on a MUSTANG DYNO, you could do 11's. I would say that there aren't a lot of them set up this way, though. :eyes:

There's more than (1) Mach running these times or faster (5 or 6 currently), although the number IS limited & more Mach's are stuck in 12.0 - 12.1 limbo with similar power/torque/weight.

FWIW, the 11.9X runs I posted above weren't one-shot-once-in-a-lifetime-perfect-conditions kinda runs.
They're NOT flukes/factory freak & have been repeated over & over again.

PS: All rwhp/rwtq numbers I've posted are dynojet numbers - not Mustang dyno numbers... ;)

The cars must be light and hook!

They hook for sure!

The weight I'm not 100% sure about - the fast ones do have rear-seat deletes, lighter-weight front seats & the usual weight-savings stuff (no jack/no spare/front sway bar removed/light-weight drag wheels/etc).

None of them are full-gutted 2900-lb shells with engines though...

I just can't understand why all the S/C 'd Cobra's I saw at Fun Ford Weekend were only running 12.2 to 12.8 all day long. The weather conditions were good. Of course, track conditions aren't the best in the world there, either. With 311/326 on a dynojet, I don't see how they do it.

Sure ... numbers don't mean everything compared to actual track times, but, with those low numbers, I would want to see one run 11's ... for myself.

Well I ran 12.53 with 305 rwhp & more weight than the 11.X guys have.
Driver skill - or lack of skill - can have a HUGE effect on final ET.

Pretty sure a seasoned driver could hop into my mach & shave a few tenths of my best ET without breaking a sweat.

That's about the times my Trans Am ran consistently with right at 310 RWHP and 320 RWTQ. Great 60' time you got there ... what tires were you on?

Post up the videos when you have time.:D
