Gears & Axles - pinion seal size

I was in the process of changing my pinion seal when i realized that the one gm gave me was too big around. I went to take it back and they said it was the only one they had for a camaro. Does anyone know what size of seal i need for it so i can get the right one? Im taking the old one to GM today to see if that will help them find it. Thanks

There are two sizes of pinion seals. Your 2001 takes the smaller one. I may be wrong but I think there was a change in late 1999 or 2000 to the smaller seal. Get this - the bigger seal is cheaper than the smaller one!
