Default wideband O2 placement in exhaust-differing opinions

OK, I read some of the posts about wideband placement. I saw some differing opinions. I currently have the setup in my sig, with the QTEC in the I-pipe aimed at the right rear wheel. I plan to get a wideband for tuning (hopefully the LC-1). For WOT tuning is it OK (or best) to pull one of the stock O2 sensors out and put the wideband in there? I see the only other option as mounting it in my I-pipe before the cutout. Thoughts on that? I really don't want to drill a hole in my headers or y-pipe. Thanks, Pete.
