Default Just installed raptor shift light, 2 questions!!

Just installed my blue LED Raptor shift light. Works great!! Two questions, for those with stock PCM tunes, what rpm do you have it set?

Next question, has anyone installed at a location where it would hit sunlight? Has anyone had any trouble with overheating or damageing the unit from sunlight? I did a search but it didnt help with these questions. Thanks!!

Mine is ON the pillar, sunlight hits it as long as it's sunny outside. I've had it about a year and it still looks/works perfectly . I am contemplating switching it into the A/C vent though, to hide it, because every non-car-enthusiast that gets in my car has a different guess as to what it is. I had one girl actually thing it was a microphone, I guess she thought I like to record myself while driving .

Mine is in the AC vent pointed to my face. Where you put it looks like you aren't even going to see it go off Even though a bright blue light would be hard to miss.

I set it at 5800rpms.

Actually when you sit in the seat it aims just to the right and slightly down, but VERY easy to see, blue is bright!! Im also 6'4" so with me sitting way back its right there in plain sight

My shift light is set at 5900. When logging the data, I found that this put my 1-2 shift right barely to the rev limiter at 6200. The 2-3 and 3-4 shifts happen lower because the rpm's aren't climbing as fast in those gears.

I set mine at 5700, and have it mounted in the AC vent in the center of console. Love it.
