Default Any A4's running Comp Cam RPM XR269HR or HIGH LIFTXR265HR?

I own a 2000 C5, A4, 3.15 gears, and will be installing 2003 LS6 heads, LS6 intake, LS6 injectors, Dynatech Longtubesw/high flow cats and X-pipe, and a Vararam. Talking to Comp CAM and they recommended one of these two, and preferably, the RPM XR269HR, for my purposes. I wish to retain good drivability, reliability and decent mileage (will be taking long trips) with a substantial increase in power. Is anyone running either of these two cams and what have your experiences been? Thanks!

As I mentioned, Comp Cams recommends the XR269HR for my application. I know it's pretty mild, relative to what many are running, but may suit my needs for a street car, with good drivabilty and reliability, that I can take on long trips, with good mileage and no codes, yet will still have a substantial power increase across the board. Thoughts? Thanks!

That is the good old Comp 216/220. Soft lobes so higher spring life. In a cam only swap, expect ~20rwhp tuned. Good mild cam, likes juice.

Performance-wise (horsepower and torque), does anyone know how these cams would compare to the stock 2003 LS6 cam? Also, what do you think it will do with the 2003 LS6 heads, LS6 intake manifold, LS6 injectors, Dynatech longtubes w/high flow cats and a Vararam Cold air intake? Thanks!

I would go a little bigger maybe the 224 or maybe a 224/228 i think you would be happier with one of those and if you wanna go bigger then look into more of the sponsor-------------------------------------------------------------------------->
There are a lot of good cams out there that make good power and tq and with those heads your putting on I would go a little bigger then what comp suggested look into Futral Motorsports, Thunder racing, MTI, or Rapid Motorsports all great shops and can help you pick the right cam and reach your goals.

those cams are considered very very small.... many people do the 224/224... that is considered the small cam these days...

That is true that is small by todays standards but the cams recomeded to him by comp are tiny if it where me i would go something like 238/244 .604/.609 109lsa but thats me but maybe the FM12 or FM 13 from futral motosports those are great cams and proven to make hp and tq and good driveablity.

The CC 216/220 is a great cam, truly a classic, I ran it for over three years with no issues. With bolt ons and heads this "little" cam will do right at 400. Idle with tuning is wonderful. Gas mileage is great. The only problem is these days everybody wants to go bigger, if you can resist that temptation this will be a good cam for you . Forget the other choice.
