Default Horsepower & Torque Formulas

Does anyone have and/or know of any formulas for calculating horsepower and torque bases on weight, speed, rpm, gearing, etc?

TIA,
Keith

Search Google. There are tons of calculators.

These were from the Car Math page of prestage.com, but I notice the site is down:

HP from weight (lbs) and 1/4mile ET:
HP = weight/((ET/5.825)^3)

HP from weight (lbs) and 1/4mile speed (mph):
HP = weight * ((speed/234)^3)

How accurate is this one? Speed can be determined by rpm, transmission gear, and differential gear correct?

Speed in the equation is the trap speed in a 1/4-mile run.

That equation is useful. The "234" is a good number for street cars. Full drag race cars (slicks, big stall converters, big gears, etc.) may need a value like "227" to be more accurate.
