Street Racing & Kill Stories - the only race I'll never forget (F-40)

I was cruising in my black 80 z/28 (350, muncie 4spd, weind intake, four barrel holley, headers, custom tru duals, no mufflers) by the local hospital in my town and as my luck would have it, I noticed in my mirror that a beautiful red 1989 Ferrari F-40 pulled out of the parking lot. I immediately slowed down to about 25 in a 50 to wait for him and he pulled up next to me. The guy (a doctor) was cool as hell and he asked me what I had in my piece of shit b/c it sounded real healthy for a junk. I gave him props for his car and dropped the hammer joking around and he lit my ass up on the way to the on-ramp. Anyway, I was on my way to Chevy Vettefest 00 and the F40 hopped on IL 88 in front of me. We came into the tollbooth at the same time and I looked at him and lit 'em up for about 50 ft. Then he did something that surprised the shit out of me.. Got that $400,000 480 hp ferrari sideways!! In about 2 seconds he had about 15 car lengths on me and I could hear the tires when he grabbed second. It was real refreshing seeing a rich guy in a supercar really beat the snot out of his toy!!! BTW, if you don't believe me, I'll give you my woman's #, she was there. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" />

If its true good story that would be some awsome shit to witness. Was this recently cause you know its been cold and snowing in the Chicagolad area and i can't see any reason any F40 would be on a street. Thats not a slam I know the vettefest was about two weeks ago and its just that I remember it being shitty then too. BTW is your women hot cause if she is give me her number so I can ask her about it <img border="0" title="" alt="[Big Grin]" src="gr_grin.gif" />

I think it was in 2000 judging by the hidden vettefest 00 thing. Sounds like a cool story though.

That would be some shit to see an F-40 go nuts. Although, I'm sure there are a few LS1's on this site that would hang with, if not beat an F-40. I'm sitting here lookin at the Dec. '02 issue of R&T, and it says that the F-40 runs an 11.8 in the quarter. Don't get me wrong, that's pretty damn fast, but not as fast as some of us can run. And a lot more expensive too. On the other hand, there's pretty much nothing out there with the same pimpness of an F-40, so I guess the doctor was the biggest pimp of all.

a stock F-40 could run the pants off any LS1. Drag racing is one thing...mmm an F-40 isnt made for draggin. I thnk the F-40 kills the LS1 in just about everyother thing you cant think of. Handlinng, wieght, braking, top speed..ect
not to mention, with alittle tunning to that crazy highperformance engine the 2.8L twinturbo v8 can push out 770 hp @10,000 rpm. This is with a new wastegate, upgraded turbos,intercoolers, and sum more minor mods.

It was Vettefest 00 and it was earlier in november, the roads weren't shitty yet... anyway, I offed that old camaro last year- I drove my 6speed 00 z/28 to the one two weeks ago. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="gr_images/icons/wink.gif" /> <img border="0" alt="[cheers]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_cheers.gif" />

Helloooo, I was being sarcastic, of course the F40 isn't a drag car - but neither is the Camaro. The F40 is just a detuned race car for the street.
