Street Racing & Kill Stories - R1and GSXR100 vs Z06

I would like to say for the record both bikes had passengers and I did steal a move on them! Also I've owned 2 ZX9rs and currently own a CBR929 now, so I know what these bikes are capable of.
A little run in with a R1 and a GSXR 1000 the other night:
1st light they come rollin thru traffic, give a little glance and a rev at the Z, like big deal another Corvette. It was pretty late, but there was a little traffic, so I waited to see if these guys were going to travel outside of town....2 lights later there was nothing but straight away for miles. Show time: Light goes green I rollout 1/2 throttle and make sure she is gonna stick, then hammer 2nd ..........pull 2 cars before they know what hit them. Well its on I got out about 3-4 cars on the R1 up to 140 and shut down.........He wasn't pulling on me, I shut down because it seemed to be the sensible thing to do.
Well the guy on the GSXR was a tool, he wasn't happy at all. He rev'd his bike up at the next light and wouldn't even look at mehttp://www.ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_confused.gif The guy on the R1 was cool and said man that thing is F@#$'n fast
The GSXR ridser seemed to be inexperienced (my opinion) He was way behind the R1, but he was the one rev'n his bike on me!
I've had 4 runs with bikes in the Z 1st CBR 600 from a dead stop...beat it by 2 cars in 1/4, 2nd 636 taking a entrance ramp on to the freeway thru the twistys and had to slow down to see him again, 3rd GXSR 750 at a light from a 1st gear roll.....The Z pulled about 3 cars and stayed there all day.

We all know that....Anything is possible with the right experience behind the wheel! I have a problem with inexperienced riders buying the largest cc they can get their hands on......knew a couple guys who found out the hard way about the dangers of riding big bores :(

i absolutely ASSRAPED a410whp viper yesterday.again and again,BY LIKE HALF A 1/4MILE!!!!!!till 140mph(for me)and after that it gets even worse.and those 1000cc bike atleast can hang with me till 140mph,thats a fact.
i hope you know the outcome of those races if the bike would have been propperly ridden??i hope,of not you will be very suprised when you run in a bike with a good rider.

I ran a GSX-R 1000 from a roll BEFORE I pullied up and only lost by 3 cars from 50-145. The rider makes all the difference in the world. Hell, if I'd been on a bike just like the one I raced, I'd have beaten that tool (the Gixer rider) by bus lengths. There ain't no way my 425 RWHP car that weighs 3670 #'s should come close to hangin' with a 170 RWHP 350 # bike. I don't care what kinda aerodynamic issues the bike has at speed.

Power/weight ratio

Cobra 8.94 Lbs/HP with me in it.

GSX-R 1000 2.91 Lbs/HP with 145 Lb rider (he was small)

A lot of bike guys fail to realize a roll race takes away some advantage of the bike. A liter bike is going to win a 50-120 against most cars, but it will be alot closer then they think against a 10 or even 11 second car that traps high....You have to compare the MPH gain over the second 1/8.....

I don't doubt that your vette is fast, don't be so defensive! Everything on this section is "Cyberfantasy" anyway! But, not the Rock Store, go to The Lookout Roadhouse, it's way better than the Rokstor!

since someone asked:
as a general rule in a 3500lbs car you will need as much rwhp as the bike hass CCs.so 600whp for a NEWER 600cc bike.
with average rider you can expect:
a 600 running high10s/low11s @125-130mph
a 750 running mid-high10 @ 130-135mph
a1000 running low 10,high9s @ 140-145mph
zx12 and busa about the same as the 1000ccs,but slightly quicker,cus their easyier to launch and dont wheelie sooo bad.
average rider,not newbiemoron will be capable after some passes to hit those times.

Yep, Ive seen an 800rwhp Supra assrape a Busa from 80-170, wasnt close..... It really takes about 650-700 rwhp from those speeds, when you factor in aerodynamics......thats a alot of ponies! ....The same Supra was beat by a modified Busa...;) Most people including the poster of this thread know that a newer liter bike with 160rwhp is going to be VERY fast, but it is amazing how much an inexperienced or scared rider makes....Ive had a similar experience.... I think that is the point everyone is tryoing to make.

i absolutely ASSRAPED a410whp viper yesterday.again and again,BY LIKE HALF A 1/4MILE!!!!!!till 140mph(for me)and after that it gets even worse.and those 1000cc bike atleast can hang with me till 140mph,thats a fact.
i hope you know the outcome of those races if the bike would have been propperly ridden??i hope,of not you will be very suprised when you run in a bike with a good rider.

There is a vid a few threads down of a 700 rwhp LS1 putting a few cars on a ZX-12R. For the guys who think it takes 1000 rwhp to beat a bike go watch it and learn. I have a race with a GSXR-1000 from a highway roll coming up and I will be spraying a 250 shot when I do, should be 700-750 rwhp, and I will let you know what happens win or lose. Aerodynamics play a HUGE part in going from a roll against a bike.

That depends on what type of fast you're talking about. Acceleration yea a bike should be faster off the showroom floor. Top speed, not necessarily, there are plenty of exotics that top out way higher than 95% of the bikes available. Then you run into the "modded" category. With a bike you can go out run a 9.8 in the quarter throw on an exhaust and still run a 9.8 in the quarter. Why? Because on a crotch rocket the problem usually isn't the power they make but using the power they have. Some people think that's because the driver's not good enough. Well honestly the driver will never be good enough to get the full quarter mile potential out of a bike like that because there are boundries that won't allow the bike itself to meet its full potential. The bike should have won? Probably not but whatever they want to think and whatever keeps their p3n1s-3nv'/ to a minimum. :eyes: BTW this is to balsan it doesn't take 1000hp to run 9s. Which is where most "fast" street bikes are(aka busa's, R1s, ZX12's). The horsepower helps but with 1k hp you should be able to pull an 8 with a 3500lb car. I know quoting power to weight ratios is cute and all but it's not the safest way to guess a quarter mile time. If you try that one in the wrong place you go home with an empty wallet.

BTW: Any one seen a Koenigsegg CCR? I've said that like 3 times on this site, but that car is a monster, you can see it in the book of records. A car that would put the NEW Z06 to shame [Not trying to dis the Z06, just trying to show how cool the CCR is].

The "new" S7 is prolly the sickest vehicle made as of now. 750HP/700TQ with twin Garretts and 2950lbs! :eek2:
