Default SShorty headers

I have a 2000 LS1 powered sandrail with stock manfolds from a 1999. They cleaned up better than the 2000 cast iron manifolds.

I am not running any converters. I cut off and welded up the emission tubes. I want some shorty headers that will bolt right up to my short tailpipe and mufflers.

Is the tailpipe/converter flange different with 2000 stock and shorties? Mine has a three bolt flange on both left and right sides. I want this to be a bolt on mod.

I saw on the speed channel that they gained 15HP with the shorties on a 98,

Yup. 2000 & up stuff is different than the 98-99 ones.

By the way.. don't believe everything you see on TV

IMO a good set of 2000 up cast iron manifolds flow about as good as aftermarket shorties.

Possibly, however I have never seen any 02s or 01s dyno higher than 320-325 without headers. Check my sig.

shorties will give you little to no gains. Look for a set of 01-02 manifolds, or a set ov vette manifolds. If you are going to get shorties, Get JBA.
