I have ran a 175 just a couple times, Like 3 runs, on 93 with no problems. But i run a 125 for about the last 10-12 bottles (15lb') 93 here though.

You would be safer to spike your fuel with some Xylene (117 octane) found at your local paint supply house. 5 gallons is about $50.

7 gallons 91
3 gallons Xylene (117)
3 ounces of Marvel Mystery Oil
yields 99 octane
* don't add more than 30% Xylene or cold start issues will arise

Or you could simply buy the 100 octane fuel from your local race shop or motorcycle store.

It is worth the extra cost in using quality fuel when doing any form of nitrous/forced induction racing as a buffer and not blow your motor. Changing head gaskets or melting a valve isn't good.

Just my 2 cents.

This gent must have owned a Turbo Buick in a former life. Another solution is to mix in a maybe 4 or five gallons of 110 or 112 octane. 5-gal (91) + 4-gal (110) = 99 Octane or 5-gal (91) + 4-gal (112) = 100 Octane. As the gent above stated this is a fairly cheap insurance policy instead of having to change head gaskets or worse. I have seen folks spray 175-shot on pump gas but there are too many variables to say that you would be safe at 150 for sure. You may be fine but why not MAKE SURE you will be? Add a little octane, better safe than sorry. Cheers !!!

I've been running a 150 shot on pump gas (91 octane) and stock fuel system for over a year now. The only problem I've had is traction!

I run a 150 nx shot on a regular basis at the track on 93 with a walboro fuel pump and tr6's on amoco 93 with out any problems. Ran a 200 shot once but traction was no where to be found and actually ran faster on the 150 shot.

I think you would be fine on 93 octane if your comp ratio isnt that high. Im running LS1 block with truck heads so my comp is 11.3:1 and Im spraying a 100 shot. SInce the summer has cvome Im getting det on hot days with no n20 use so Im mixing 6-7 gallons of 100 octane AV fuel with the rest 93 octane and IM fine even with n20!
