the STS-V version look like it might fit under the f-body... i'm sure the computer will not work with it... but maybe a later conversion could be made. the gears look strong any word on max power?

Yeah I guess it does... 6 speed l80 the case in some of the pictures have c1 on them?
Looks to be interesting how this one does... this is the trans that Ford helped on? I read something about GM and Ford working on a 6 speed auto a year or so ago.
Also a few of the pictures looks like a direct fit in to the y-body the ones with the gear box bolted to it.

For awhile there was an auto 6 speed being developed, however it held less power than the 60E. I assume that project was abandoned for a tougher transmission.

There may also be a 4L65E upgrade/replacement known as the 4L70E.

Plus the all new 6L80E is supposedly a bit longer than any of the 4 speed OD units (and obviously the 3 speeds also) as well I think.

I've seen adapters to put GM transmissions behind 4.6 fords and everything imaginable.
I don't see bolting it up to be a problem once someone designs and adapter (if it doesn't have the standard GM bolt pattern).
The biggest problem might be electronics which should also be no problem once someone developes a controller for it.
