how soon do i need a tune after installing a 3500 TCI

Default how soon do i need a tune after installing a 3500 TCI

as it states....im getting it put in o Saturday, and prolly wont get the HPtuner for a little over a week. Am i going to have idle problems?

Yup, you sure will. My car has died when shifting from reverse to drive about 5 times in the past week. Once in gear, you won't have a problem though. Check out TSP mail order tune. It's $200 right now and from my understanding, retunes are free forever.

i have my hptuner on the way, placed the order today, and it should be in next week..just wanted to know if i was going to be w/o a ride for a few days ...thanks man

I believe the problem is the difference in the outer diameter of the stock door stop compaired to the performance TC.

I had to have my idle raised to 800 RPM out of gear, and 650 RPM in gear for a Y3000 stall.

I've had my tci 3500 in for a year now with no tuning done to it. The idle will dip low some times but I've only had it die once.

i have a tci ssf 4200 stall and it's pretty much fine....i'm sure it could use a tune, and the idle goes from 1k to 800 idling in drive, but it drives fine.....but it seems like similar converters in even slightly different cars cause different reactions......

i have a 3600, never had it tuned. it dies every now and then.. nothing too annoying.

I havent had any of htose problems but mine does shift way past 6k.. i dont understand tho because I thought it hit my rev limiter. Not sure I only drove it for a minute and had to go back to college. im going to log it tomorrow when i get back home

You would want a tune to get the shift points correctly adjusted anyway.
