Default Oil leak from the filter..help

I have oil leaking from around my oil filter, do i need to replace it or is there something else i can do? thanks

Is it torqued down tight enough? Try buying another filter and putting it on. Maybe the seal on the current one is busted.

its really tight, im thinking maybe too tight, could that be why?

Yes it's possible its to tight. When you change it make sure you wipe down the base of where the filter screws onto and put some oil on the filters gasket. Only hand tighten...when you screw it on easy and it starts to not go on with your fingers just give it a good 1/2 - 3/4 turn and be done with it.

Also check the old filter if you still have it and make sure the old seal come off with it. If you don't have the old one check and make sure the old seal isn't stuck in the housing. I have had this happen to me before.
