I have thought about that kit several times. I keep talking myself out of it tho. Especially when you see videos of Cobras blowing the top off their intakes & Z06s burning down. But maybe someday.

That would certainly put us deep into the 11s, eh Jason? But again, it's that stupid line I drew in the sand for myself. And I'm not about to give up on it now when I'm only 3/10ths away......

Mark you shouldn't have too much of a problem with puddling on a direct port set up I wouldn't think. most of those setups you see blow up are in front of the throttle body or intake opening. (like the maf plates)

That's why I think if I do nitrous, it'll be a direct port setup like this... seems to be the most safe route to go. Plus the burst panels in the LSX make me feel better about using it... those pics of the Z06 made me sick!

Heh... funny, I have that same line drawn in the sand. People ask why don't you just buy the damn nitrous kit get into the 11s and be done with it... I tell 'em it's the principle of it, dammit! We're both just too stubborn...

Agreed on all points. The LSX does allow for a safer install of Nitrous. Except the stubborn part. I AM NOT!

And while we may ****-n-moan about STILL running low 12s, someday when (if?) we hit an 11 with our cam-only LS1s, we will be in an elite crowd. And we may even be entitled to do some gloating. Not that we would mind you! I mean NEITHER of us has EVER mentioned it to Bill that our LS1s are faster than his built big block, right?

wonder if I can make it into the 11's cam only.........

Mark you should be well into the 11's with traction. I've always been impressed how you've done some great homework and put together a nice matched setup. That converter is going to make all the difference in the world, if you get traction on your launch its nuts. I hate the 4L60 or 4L60E with a passion but when she's working right its a pretty fun ride!

That's very true... I see guys posting up about running 11s with cam only, and they make it sound so easy. But from watching us chase after it, I think we both can say it is definitely NOT an easy thing to do, especially in basically full street trim (except for tire changes).

Wasn't it Kennedy who said "We go to the 11s cam only not because it is easy, but because it is hard!"

Heh... I sure hope so too. I want a Josh video just like yours documenting your pursuit of 10s... except mine will be in pursuit of 11s.
