1000 hp? I don't think so.

t88 on 18 lbs doesn't seem like enough to make 1k.

I know the guy that owned that car he has sold it . Iam not aware of it having a 1000 hp . I know where the dyno run of this car is it had 700 something at the rear wheels. I rode in the car it is fast . I will see if i can find the dyno run on this and put up the link. Unable to find the run on the site it was on , but like someone had said not at the rear wheels . I believe you loose 20% threw the drive train so if he had 1000@fly x's .20 = 200 so he looses that puts him @ 800. I know his run was somewhere in the 700 's so it was alittle less than 1000hp@ flywheel

OK.....after having been in many 600+rwhp cars...most of which were closer to 800, I can honestly say that the end video against the Lambo was not in a 600=rwhp car.......car was a total dog until boost, and then was still not that impressive.....eitehr he was ***** footin it or it was just plain slow. I was not looking at the Lambo either, watching the environment. There was no present tire spin too....interesting for a car with no sidewall on the tire. :dunno:

The Supra Did Not Race The Lamborghini In That Video, The Car They Were In While Behind The Lambo Is Not A Supra .

I just talked to the guy that owned the supra , he said they were in the Sl 55 in the video behind the Lambo . He also said the dyno I was talking about where he pulled 700's that he didnt have the heads and port work and something something done. He is going off of what other people say that cars with his same set up should do . He didnt have any proof of it putting down 1000 hp @ the wheels. Not to say it wouldnt , just saying no numbers to show it .

oh okay.. i was confused at the end.. i didnt kno if that was the same car or not. I gotcha now. No doubt the supra is a fast car... I thought it was the same car that the lambo left like that... makes more sense now.

Supra has always been my dream car. Ever since driving a buddies supra which dyno'd at around 725 to the rear tires. Those things are monsters. Great vid.

fyi....there is not a 20% drivetrain loss. the avg. guesstimate shops and magazines say after 25+ years of experience is 13% for a manual car, which the Supra likely is, and about 18% for a car with a TH400.

NONE of those cars are anywhere near 1000hp or even 700.

I hardly consider a Supra a car that rocks....I think of them as highly over rated Toyotas.......then again, I am not about the Bling Bling, and don't think performance cars should ride on 19s......I go straight, and that is all......and then take the turn off at the track....

What makes a supra so special? Anyone who is around LS1 on a regular basis knows that the LS1 is a high contender in the game of the Supra......Forced induction LS1 are sick.....but then again, I think they are breed for nitrous. Ever see a daily driver dyno over 670rwhp with stock internals? I have......

BTW, spending $40k on a Toyota doesn't sit well with me either......

Don't get me wrong I like the cars, just my opinion on them.....

there was a recent post about these cars, im not sure where i saw it, but the lambo burnt to the ground. it had some type of fire which couldnt be put out in time and it went up in flames. suck when you hear about something like that about any car.

Being a former owner of a supra, and hanging around many people that have them... I can tell you these cars are no joke. I dont have one anymore because of some money deals, but i'll have one again soon.

Anyways, you ask what makes the supra so special? 900+ rwhp on a stock block/internals, stock tranny and stock drivetrain, they also look amazing ( obviously and opinion ) . Even bolt ons can push you into the 11's with a 6spd or auto. I really dont know that much about ls1's even though i own one, but from driving supra tt's ( stock / bpu) , I can tell you I do enjoy them more than ls1's, go crazy if you want guys .

But hey, if you dont like them no reason to get one.. just leaves more for me when im ready to get another.
