Default Can I Cut Off The Bracing Under My Hood To Save Weight?

I`m getting into doing some weight reduction on my car and have done several things to lighten the Z28 up. I was looking under the hood yesterday (after removing all the heat shielding and exhaust brackets under the car) and there is probably about 7 lbs. or so of steel under the hood. I did a search with no results. If anyone has done this what all did you cut off? Did you need to remove the hood shocks.......ect. I don`t want to cut all the steel out and go to shut my hood and the hood folds in half on me. Let me know somthing fellas. I need to quit being a cheap *** and just buy me a fiber hood. Thanks for any help fellas.

You could get a hole saw and swiss the bracing to save some weight. Check for LittleG's post about his hood pins, there are pictures of his hood swissed there.

Checked out LittleG`s post and that looks like a good idea. I sent him a E-mail requesting pics. as well as a few questions.
