You need a tranny mount.

Yup, you need a new tranny mount. AutoZone has the Energy Suspention ones cheap, but the poly mounts cause vibration.

Some hippies complain about them making noise. I bet your Borla makes enough noise to drown out any "barely audible vibrations" the poly mount may cause.

Is it safe to drive on it for now the way it is? I already have a prothane mount but have not gotten around to putting it in.

Um an inch is not that far and your tranni mount may be fine. Does your tranni hit or thud? Get underneath the car and check for rips. If you have the stock motor and tranni mounts 1 inch of movement is not that bad. I mean think of all the people with the y-pipes hitting on brand new cars with new header/catback setups. That pipe is moving about an inch.

I'd check for rips but you probably don't need to change the tranni mount.

I drove from GA to CA w/ a broken mount (not by choice) in my 95 Z28 and I never had any problems w/ the car that could have been caused by the broken mount. But since you already have a new one I would get it on quick, its a real easy install.

unbolt 2 bolts on each side of the tranny crossmember, unbolt the bolt through the middle that goes into the mount, take off the bolts on the mount itself, work backwards with new mount.....piece of cake!
