Default 01 Z-28 Rock'd!

Well I took it to the track yesterday. My very first run was 13.77@102.12. My worst run of course was against a friend of mine that I really wanted to beat. The car just didn't want to start going till probable somwhere around the 330 foot mark. Felt like it was bogging or something. Needless to say I didn't do too well that run with a 14.03@104.93. The car made up for that. Before the end of the day I had not one but two very low 13 second runs.

Reaction 60 Foot 1/4 Time MPH
.251 2.10 13.15 106.47
.095 2.07 13.11 106.39

One of those was against my buddy on the rematch. I was getting 13.7's to begin with and he was getting 13.6's. He red lighted on our rematch and ran a 13.8. He knew though that I had him even if he didn't red light. It was sweet as whenever me and him racing came up he would remind me how when I raced him with slower car bracket style that he cought up to me and passed me to beat me. Guess yesterday I was my turn. I waited for that for awhile.

The car has almost nothing done to it. I did some free mods as shown in GMHTP, cutting out some of the air box, removing the MAF screen, home porting the TB and bypassing the TB coolant supply. I installed a Holley air filter and put an exhaust dump on the car. I did the normal track side weight removal that pretty much everyone that goes to the track does. All-in-all I spend less then $150.00 and got the car to go 13.1. It was more then I was expecting. I was hoping for 13.7's and would have been happy with the 13.7's the car ran. It has shown me it has a good bit more then 13.7's in it. I think I just may have picked a pretty good car.

Thanks. I am happy. Picked up the car for 15k and put less then a $150.00 into and ran 13.1. Now that is priceless!
