Default Its official the Vette is superior to the F-body

Ok so you all know I miss my WS6 and LOVE the F-body. BUT MY GOD THE VETTE IS EASY TO WORK ON!!! I have the stock exaust almost off in 45 minutes (I can't find my damn 15mm deep socket or I'd be done) There is SOOOOO MUCH room and the bolts are just RIGHT there. Its absolutely nuts, I went from the LT1 to the LS1 which was MUCH MUCH easier. I would say the C5 is an even bigger jump in the easy department. Granted I have to remove the steering rack for the cam install but at least all the bolts and parts are easy to get to.

Sorry to gloat but I'm just walking around in a daze, man anybody want a nice z28 vert for about 11k??? I'd think I'm going to buy the old lady a c5 vert!!!

When my tranny goes out (which I KNOW it will) it'll be at your doorstep wether I can afford it or not so you can prove what no other shop has been able to prove to me and that a 4L60 is worth more than a doorstop in a performance car

Actually I am still trying to get a chance to have you go through my transfer case on the truck I'm trying to get a tune up and some suspension issues worked out first!

C4s are a beotch to work on compared to my 88 TA. Serp. belt has some sort of huge cover on it, makes a simple task a PITA.

I don't get this corvette tax thing. Headers only are the same price as an F-bodies. Add in the converters and x pipe then its more than the converters and y pipe because there is more material because its true duals. Cams, same price. CAI, a little more but its more than just a lid because most include filters. Not f-bodies. Suspension pieces, same price. Intakes, same. Tuning, same. Spark plugs, same. Where is this mysterious tax that I have yet to be charged? Oh yeah, Bobby got taxed big time for those over rated POS headers. Wanna sell them to me, Bobby?

Some of Ellis' tricks are holding my 4L65 together in my H2. The race weight is 6800 lbs and it ran 14.6 bouncing off the rev limiter. I'm thinking your trans in the car will hold together just fine with his work

It's only the stupid "CORVETTE" licensed parts and decorative items that bear the tax. Just like H2's. Billet items bearing the name have an extra tax for the people dumb enough to buy from the dealer

I think the difference is you can go budget with the F-body there are inexpensive choices out there. The higher end stuff is comparably priced but you couldn't get Jethots and an offroad xpipe on a vette for 475 which I've seen Pacesetters and flowtechs go for, and you can get a cat back for an f-body for 250 while the vettes start at 600 now mufflers can get pricey but not too many cost 350

But your right it isn't bad until you get into the corvette specialty foo foo parts like 20,000 leather interiors and 195 exaust plates crap like that....little stuff too like the ASP pulley the same damn thing is like $50 bucks more for the vette.

Not too mention there are some vette vendors that are betting on the fact that vette owners have more money than brains...

As far as selling the headers everything has a price but your probably better off buying some new from LG You need to get some though the install is cake. There is LITERALLY 1 I mean ONE bolt that is a PITA to get to the rest are in plain veiw I have a couple of tiny little scrapes on my hands but nothing like the hamburger of working on the camaro. No swivel extensions needed etc almost fun even..

LOL I'm not worried about it, in my 93 I went through 3 "bulletproof" rebuilds with two shop that swore the tranny would hold up to anything etc etc. Just like FLP told Ken etc etc so its a sore spot with me. The fact that I'm going to take it to Ellis and not do another 6 speed conversion speaks of trust. I will believe it when I see it although I think the most the camaro will put down in the future is 350rwhp so a tranny shouldn't be too hard to build for it.

The 4l65 is a different animal that my friends is a transmission! Wasn't there a guy that put one is his LT1 camaro?
