Question LS1 Power Question

Car: 1999 Z28 6 Speed Manual 60,000 miles.

I have had this car for about a week, it if my first V8 daily driver. My question is on how the LS1 in this car runs. I noticed when pulling out in 1st and giving it hard gas the car pulls very hard, but at about 2,500 does some kind of power shift, it is really hard to explain. If i shift to second and put it to the floor, it does the same thing. It feels almost like the car is down shifting or switching cams (i know it can be neither of these, duh). The car seems to power down for a second then come back in a hurry and throw me to the back of my seat. Just curious what this could be....is it normal? Should I have it looked at? Thanks!

Also, Could this just be the car getting into its power band? Again, new to V8s.

o ok i know what you mean mine does that too but it's do to a bad tunning, or lack of tunning there of. do u have any work done on the car. Just dyno the car it will cost u like 75 bucks but u can see ur fuel curve, and see if u runnign lean or rich check it out.
