Poping Noise In Exhaust!! Help !! Hey guys I was driving around the other day and I accelerated my car fairly hard nothing new though except this time I heard a pop come from what sounded the cats cause it sounded like it was from my passenger side well nothing seemed wrong although i have had the obd code saying my catalyist is below efficency. Any one know what that could of been ? thanx

If it made a popping sound between gear change it will only have been an overrun of unburnt fuel exiting exhaust. Mine car runs no cats, straight through pipes & it continually popes, most times a loud crack between 2nd-3rd and blows out a flame.

i have been getting a pop out of mine since i did my recent LT and True Dual install. if i am at a low roll or from a stop and i get on it WOT the exhaust just pops but still goes on strong. people tell me now my car is running rich and thats the unburned fuel getting burned off at WOT.
