Kevin, do you use those tires?

Most of the street tires I've used on my TA liked about 31-33psi cold front and 23-28psi cold rear.

I use Dayton Daytona ZR's which are I think the same as Fuzion Zri's, same company different name. I run all 4 tires at 31psi which works best, over 31psi I feel traction slips more and under 29psi it gets sloppy cornering and steering is less responsive. At the track I drop them down to 26psi and they hooked up great until I put in a stall converter. Before the converter I did 1.95** 60 foot times all day long at 26psi.

The ZRI's are made by Bridgestone.

I'm an autocrosser (I race on different tires), but the car is setup for performance handling and makes excellent grip.

Yes, there is a set on my car right now. I run 41 front to get "crisp" turn in and 36 rear to help put power down. They are reasonably responsive tires, wear is good (and they wear even at that pressure with my alignment) and grip is quite good for a regular street tire.

When I found out that Bridgestone made them (even using their "UNIT-T technology), I decided I couldn't go wrong for the price (and I haven't). I don't need the latest street tires to get me around on the highways and back roads and since I race on "R" compound rubber, any street tire will "suck" by comparison (you can't compare a drag radial to a street tire, you can't compare a race compound tire to a street tire either, different animals, probably more different than the drag radial/street tire comparison). I could spend twice as much for tires and really not get much better performance. So, I'll save the extra cash for fresh race rubber.

I don't drag race....at all, so I really couldn't say. I'd guess they are "average", not spectacular, but fair for a street tire.

i run mine 40 in front and 32 in rear. thats the best combo i found with them. but the rear-end will sway more and more with them under 35 on the backm but they will hook up great =]

Wow, so I'm guessing the Fuzion is an oddball when it comes to pressures. Anyone know why? Maybe the sidewalls are unusually stiff or soft?

I'm not sure. I usually run/ran 41/36 on my 3rd gen and my 4th gen just followed that trend. I can't say I've tested it much, but it works and has worked so I just stayed with it. I have run most other tires at that same pressure split (and pressures), so I don't think it's tire specific. I think I prefer the extra carcass stiffness that comes with extra pressure and may trade some response for ultimate grip (though it doesn't seem like much, I've seen over .9 g's on these tires per a Beltronics FX2). And, in braking, I've seen over 1g (1.05 actually) with the same meter.

I would say you are trading wear, comfort and ultimate grip for more response.
Surly the rear tires at 36psi wear the middles out first?

I would have suspected that.

I'd have suspected that as well, but they seem to be wearing evenly. Most tires this wide seem to have a "belt" around the center of the tire to keep the center from bulging.
