Default What hooks better on the street . . Nitto or BFG?

I would like to hear from some guys who have run both the Nitto 555-R and the BFG G forge drag radials, which one of these tires hook better on the street only. i have MT et drags for the track i am looking for street use only. my options are a nitto 305/45/18 or the bfg 315/30/18.

My tires never spin on dry pavement anymore on my GTO with Nittos. I never thought there was a big difference between street and DR's but there sure is. I nail it and the rear just sinks and the car takes off.

They did for me, and if you really want to hook, then Mickey t's street radails are much better then either one, but they dont offer then in a 18" -Jim

i had 275/40/17 nittos on and i couldn't get them to hook that hard on the street or the track.. i was getting 2.0 60 ft's at the track with a stall.. which was horrible..

I'd go with the BFG's because you can get them a bit wider and i heard they are pretty sticky! good luck

The BFG's will definetely hook better than the Nittos on the street and on the strip. Here's a way I tested this out: I downshift my car into 1st at 30 mph and I would get some spin with the nittos. I tried this same thing with the BFG's on, and my car just squatted and took off. The nittos will last about 5x longer than the BFG's though. Usually about 13-15K miles for the nittos and about 3-4K miles with the BFG's.

This is a little bit off the subject, but if you want to improve your traction....try a polyurethane torque arm bushing. I just put mine in the other day and traction improved by quite abit. The thing only costs $20.

Most of you guys probably already know that but I thought I'd throw it out there....
