Default 4L60E Question

Hi everyone,

I found a 4L60E trans out of 99 firebird that had 1k miles on it. It is 950.00.
I am building a driver 69 camaro with a crate LS1 approx 375 hp and was wondering if this is an OK deal for my application. I`m not sure I really need
a 1700.00 beefed up unit when I`m just building a driver.

What are your thoughts? Good idea or not?

Thanks, Kurt

Seems like the right tranny for a driver if you ask me...But I also drive a beefed up 4l60e in my car wich i drive 40 miles everyday.

It's a good price. As long as you do not pund the crap out of it everyday and race it they will routinely deliver 130k+ before it gives trouble.
