Default basic rear end questions

sup guys. i'm hopefully gonna be getting a z28 or ta here within a few months. i just would like to know how to set up the rear end. i'm not doing a high horsepower thing. prolly just a cam car...maybe heads down the road. but i'd like to know what kind of rear i would need to support the hp. which i would guess pending on the cam...and with or without heads would be anywhere from 380ish-420ish. just guessing on the numbers though.

With a M6 car you at risk for breaking the axles or the pinion. With a A4 car your good to go. From what I have seen. All in all if you go to the track with a 10 bolt your on borrowed time. Some people have great luck with the rear lasting. Others dont. Like I said its all on borrowed time with a 10 bolt.

If I had and M6 and planned on any track use where I was going to go all out effort I'd get a 12bolt. I broke my stock 10 bolt with 340 rwhp in my old M6 car. On and A4 the rearend tends to last a bit longer, no 4K+ clutch dumps.
