The kit they sell to install them, does it come with a schraeder^sp valve ? and what about the cross over on the stock fuel line that round thingy.. what is that a pressure regulator? does the kit account for that as well?

Was looking for some real world experience. Someone who bought the kit would have first hand knowlege. Sales people sometimes tend to tell you what you want to hear. Not dis'ing SpeedInc either.

True enough. I asked because it looked like you were just asking what came with the kit, not how it worked. I haven't even seen anyone talking about them before this.

Anyone used em?

OK, this is why I wanted real world experience. I'm in an email loop with the pres / fuel system consultant. I ask about the parts of the system and what all's accounted for. I get a simple answer and direct answer as to how the setup is put together. There are two things missintg from the ready to connect ls1 kit. The pulsator and the schrader valve. I enquire about this and get back the obvious answer on the pulsator-- its disregarded.. but on the schrader valve I get "whats that"... This is the supposed Pres and Fuel line efficienardo and doesnt know all the stock parts to the system he's replacing. Here my answer when I press for it: "I believe the pulsator evens out the flow to the passenger rail."
So not accounting for it will do what? I ask him a couple times and get no answer

"There would be no Schrader valve with our rails, but pressure can be relieved by loosening any of the AN lines." No **** really? I needed an email to tell me that?

Ok now my confidence in their system, is shaken. I know more about the system than they do. For 268 bucks I want someone who knows their stuff, not just pretends to. Going to talk to MrNasty and see what he has to offer. Speedinc's setup is nice looking but thats about it. I could duplicate Speedincs system with help from Ace and AER rails cheeeper. I'm somehat pissed and disappointed obviously.

the "pulsator" is a dampner used to even out fuel pressure fluctuations, there is no shrader valve so a permanent fuel rail pressure guage is a must if you want to know fuel pressure. The main fuel line connection is a radiator clamp, which i was skeptical about but have had no problems with

FWIW, with the Nasty Perf. setup, the main supply line connects to the factory hard line with an Aeroquip anodized aluminum compression fitting. You can see some pics of my Nasty rails in this thread:

Thanks!

I think that Nasty does include a fuel pressure gauge with their kit, but I didn't like how theirs looked. I bought my own silver faced Autometer gauge and anodized elbow fitting. If you're interested, the Autometer part # is 2180.

Ok, I'm getting ready to install my rails from Speed Inc tonight, but it sounds like even though I bought their install kit, I'm not going to have everything I need? what fuel pressure should it be running at with those rails? I mean, even if I had a gauge there, I wouldn't know if it was good or bad pressure LOL

so is the pulsator and schrader valve not really necessary?

and since my car isn't that hard core at all (just basic heads and cam, rails were for appearance) I probably don't even need to be concerned with the pressure, although it looks cool.

better do some more reading.

I called autometer, the 2180 is a 1/8 NPT, what size was the rail? Isn't it a 3/8 NPT at the end there?

kit comes with everything needed for install unless you want a guage, then you need a 3/8 to 1/8 pipe thread adapter and a guage of course, fuel pressure will remain the same regardless of the rails

1/8 to 3/8 NPT, cool, thanks.
