Default B&M vs. Pro 5.0

Well I bought the Pro 5.0 and LSS for my TA a while back, and decided to put it in yesterday. After pulling the console and the rubber boot, I see the word B&M on the shifter. I'm guessing its the ripper shifter bcz I don't know of any other shifters they make for our cars. It has the removable stick so I guess it's one of the older model's. I bought the car used from a friend of mine last year who bought it used as well and he didnt know it had a aftermarket shifter either. So, if i take it out and put in the the pro 5.0, am I going to notice a nice difference? Or should I just put the LSS on the B&M shifter and sell the pro 5.0? I'm stumped guys, help me out.

I like my pro 5.0, had the B&M installed at one time, but I think the pro5.0 just feels alot crisper. Again thats just my opinion.

If the B&M has been in there for a while, it is probaby worn. Because of that, if you replace it, you will definately notice a difference. Remove the B&M and check it out for wear and tear.

I have a Pro 5.0 in my car, but I've driven both. I like the 5.0 much much better.

Pro 5.0 hands down. I've snapped a B&M in hallf before power shifting.....those things are like plastic compared to the quality of parts the Pro 5.0 is made of

Thanks alot for the replies fellas. I think I'm gonna go ahead and install the pro 5.0 and if the b&m is in pretty good condition, i'll clean it up and sell it.

DON'T DO THE LSS W/ THE PRO 5.0! I had that on my 98 Z and the positoning the way the shifter sits in the car leaned way off to the passenger side. It was just weird.
I just pulled a ripper form my SS, not bad, definitely better than the pro 5.0 but I replaced the ripper with a SLP short throw and austin's Qwik Stick.
Hands dwon the best shifter I've driven out of the 3. Its an awesome combo haven't missed 3rd yet!

I have the 5.0 and the short stick and I love it. After trying it out, I couldn't stand the tall shifter anymore. And yes it moves it over to the right, but not so extreme that it make anything look bad or feel werd.

You installed it backwards. It's suppose to lean toward you. Put it back on !!!!!!! Pro 5.0 is the only way to go IMO

i havent tried the B&M but i love my pro5.0 ive had it for almost a year now. never missed 2-3.
also, you can cut down the arm that comes with the pro5.0 and that will work flawlessly

man i'd take the bm out. my buddy had the bm, kirban and then he went to the pro 5.0. i' drove his car with all 3. the pro 5.0 is great. the 2-3 shift is out of this world. that is what made me change the hurst billet plus shifter that i had first to the pro 5.0. this is my opinion from my experiences with the shifters. when it comes to some bolt ons, they all perform the same just some is more expensive. all jokes aside, PRO 5.0
