Default input shaft?

ok i got a question

is there a difference in length between an lt1 t-56 adn an ls1 t-56

some guy is trying to tell me a ls1 tranny will not bolt up to an older 350 he was saying the input shaft is to long and i will have to swap it for the lt1 style one

in all my research ive never heard of this

so anyone know?

The shaft of an LS1 is too long( compared to an LT1 . The LS1 bell is also longer. Th RFB pattern is the same.

since the bell and input shaft are longer does that mean it will work on a 350 thats not and lt/ls 1 engine

i had plans of putting it behind a regular cast iron 350

also how much to long is the input shaft?

I think it is more important where it is going. If you are going in a car the did not come with the T56 , there is a model made for going older applications( 1386-000-0110) It accepts the old 4-bolt"bowtie " bells and release system and the input lenghth is already worked out for you.

yeah i found an old post that explains the input length differences

so if anyone wants to trade i got

99 tranny with 45,000 miles
bellhousing
brand new slave, slightly used master
zo6 clutch kit brand new
extra flywheel needs to be resurfaced
shifter
rear slip yok

will trade this for an lt1 t-56 with everythign i listed
