i just installed motive 4.10 gears and set them up to what i thaught was almost perfect. pinion depth was set right, and the contact marks on the gears are right on. on a test drive acceleration isnt bad but deceleration sounds like a police siren behind me. are they tight or loose? any tips? back lash is aprox .005 maybe i did that wrong?? how does one check the back lash? where is it even measured from? im understanding it as about .005 of slop between gears.

When I first had my gears set up the crush sleeve was not tq down properly and it made a rumble sound. Might check there.

When I set my backlash I put the dial indicator so it would be touching the heel of a ring gear tooth and held the pinion steady. I then turned the ring gear back and forth. .005 made my gears quiet as a mouse till I threw the MOJO to them at the track.

im thinking my crush sleeve wasnt tight enough. Oh well, second times a charm. i'll go to sleep tonight looking forward to doing it all over again...haha.
