Default Doing SpecS3 clutch tomorrow...advice please?????

I have a stock tranny and SpecS3 clutch and ill probably keep the stock flywheel. Do i use the spacer plate that came with the clutch and where does it go? Is it for the clutch, slave cyliner or the clutch master cylinder? Do i need it? Can i try it without it then put it on if i need to w/o dropping the tranny again?

My stock clutch was done by previous owner 25k miles ago it was $512.50 for the kit i wonder if that means they reused the flywheel or it has a new one?

And also i may as well drain all fluid and refill so what tranny fluid should i use? Any filters or anything else to buy ahead of time?

All suggestions welcome.

Might want to make sure it hasn't been turned before. I think the flywheel is only good to be turned once.

i don't recommend using the stock flywheel. at the very least resurface your stock flywheel, but its recommended you should use a billet flywheel.

If you're talking about the small steel spacer, it goes behind the slave cylinder to space it forward toward the pressure plate. It should have two slots in it where the 10 mm bolts go into the tranny. Be careful, I had to buy longer bolts because of the spacer. I actually pulled the first two threads because the bolts were too short.

Hope that helps.

you MUST find a local machine shop to resurface your flywheel. otherwise, don't expect much life on your spec.

On all the performance clutches ive done we just resurface the flywheel with a diegrinder with a round sanding disk to remove any heat buildup. But i dont want to take chances with my new S3 clutch so maybe i should just hold off and get a flywheel

that's ridiculous. get a machine shop to do it or get a brand new one.

What works best to get the pilot bearing out the quickest and the easiest?
