Default installed comp 222/224 cam this morning

just got through driving the car around and cleaned off. I started this morning at 8 and at 3 had the car started, running after putting the throttle body on for the second time (drilled out the idle hole 1/32, a 64th at a time). drove it I don't have the idle very high around 500-600 rpms in gear at stop signs it acts like it wants to die but doesn't. after a couple trips around town the computer has figured it out well enough to idle alot smoother than before (still rough ). I'm likein it pretty good so far. I need to tune it some I'm sure but for the time being it drives around town just fine. I think it'd be funny to take it to some dealership and say " this thing idles rougher somethin else I just bought it the other day and it just started to do this when I got home." and watch them scratch their heads.

congrats on the install! i got the same cam but on a 114....

and yes, tune the car!.... it fixed ALL my surging, and flat spot problems....

its a nice cam, with a good powerband... mine really hits at 3K... and with 4:10's it pulls hard..... to redline.

sounds killer with a cut-out to.

yeah the more I drive it the better it get as the pcm figures out what adjustments are needed. I need to find someone around here with ls1 edit or similar that will let me use it for a little cash in hand took it out tonight and ran it through the 1/4 made a friend about crap himself (broke in the valve springs a few weeks back before I put the cam in). I need to change the oil in it tomarrow and hopefully get anything thats not suppose to be there out.

it would be best if you could take it to an experianced tuning shop, so they can really nail the tune... trust me, it makes a big differance, there car will be even faster and smoother.... and youll also get some rwhp numbers...

anyway, good luck!

now you really need some long tube's!!!

Yeah after the tune I'm goin to start trying to save up for some. probably need to look into larger injectors and some suspension mods to increase traction sometime thereafter.
