Default Seems like the rear vette O2s didnt help p1153/p1133 for me.

I knew I was tripping the codes so I replaced the O2s with the Bosch part after reseaching here. 1st ingnition cycle, on the way to work (25miles), the SES light turned off. I was like awesome. Back home it was cool too. But by the third cycle, next day to work, the SES light came back on.

I was been getting horrible gas mileage and realize that it attributed to bad sensors because the car runs open loop and dumps fuel. But now that they were replaced, maybe it could be the part throttle (LTRIMS/STRIMS) richness screwing them up. I'd like to find a solution cause I just spent 160 on new pair of sensors, and can't believe that it took a day and less then 75 miles to foul them.

Anyone have any ideas?

160? Damn the price has gone up I guess.

Your not running the extensions anymore correct?
I guess its possible the tune is so far off its fouled them over. Maybe you should set the code status to 2nd error. I never threw an ses light but I set my o2 heater performance codes to report on 2nd error.

I had the same damn experiance! I figured out if drive around at 1200 rpm, the O2's cool off and PCM throws the SES and fuel economy goes to hell. So now I try to keep it above 1500 rpm and it hasn't thrown a light. I reset the code about 6 times before I figured this out. Running Bosch O2's as well.

They were 79 each from Advanced Auto with a 1 year warrenty. I have the rear vette ones in there that are like 2.5" feet long so no need for extentions. I thought since I've read on here that they could be higher wattage they would work but that just could have be heresay/speculation. I'll try resetting the code to see what happens but I want to go back up to TTP and have them log a part throttle run and see what the O2 graph looks like. I know it should be a sine wave with peak and trough at >600mV to < 300mV with wavelength of >200msec. If not then I hope they can get my trims adjusted so I can get the switching back to <100msec. Do you guys think its the trims and can they be adjusted for faster responding?

I was about to buy some also, iam glad i didnt. Do you have a exhaust leak (Blaster) anywhere? Do you a rough idle?

I took off the exhaust, painted it, sealed all the clamps with high-temp, sensor-safe RTV, and am confident that there is no leak. I just disconnected the battery and had a couple of ignition cycles today without any SES, so I don't know what going on.

Update:

SES light came back on while going to work. Fuel economy is still bad.

even "sensor safe" RTV can kill O2 sensors.... keep the sensors far away until the RTV has dried completely...

Had the codes before I added the RTV so I don't think that is it. Thanks anyway.

Hey when u have a P1133 and a P1153 come on at the same time is a fuel contamantion (spelling) problem. Check your fuel filter and see what the color the fuel is that comes out. Mine was brown from the line side that goes to the engine. I even took off my injectors and cleaned them. Now I'm about to drop the tank and clean it then put a new sock on the pump.

I don't think that would be the problem. I only have 16K on the odometer but that's worth a try. Fule filter is easy. Don't know what else besides the tune it could be. Seems like I am getting slightly better gas milage this go around but it still is not neary as good as pre cam.

I'm getting ready to get the vette sensors tomorrow how are your 02s doing now? Gas mileage?

I am experiencing rough idle and bad gas mileage and bogging off the line at the track.

Rough idle is an understatement with the cam but everything seems normal there. Gas miledge was around 15mi/gallon (highway!) but seems to be a little better with the new O2s. I might see something in the 200s this time. Smell is still strong but I don't have cats either. I do feel a slight hestitation if I try to give it more gas right after I let the clutch out.

I know a few people have purchased bad sensors. It might be a long shot but if you show them the codes they should replace the sensors for free.

Quick Reply: Seems like the rear vette O2s didnt help p1153/p1133 for me.
