I have a Spec stage 3I with 5000 miles on it and the engaugement is literally at the top of the pedal. I can push the pedal not even 3"s and the clutch disengauges... I have had zero races, not been to the track, run radials and hardly beat on it.

Im not happy with a 5000 miles life span! On the plus side though, it has ZERO chatter and has from day one.

Mine is doing the exact same thing but at 3000 niles!! What did spec do for you?

Hey guys, mine was doing the exact same thing, i got it and the flywheel taken out, and the clutch was completely toasted, and the flywheel, was really glazed over. This was after mayb 5-6K miles on it. Never was really launched hard(max was like 3500rpms) never powershifted. I sent it to Spec and am waiting to hear back from them, i am hoping they replace both my flywheel and clutch, cause if the clutch went bad, then it must of caused my flywheel to mess up. I have e-mails from them saying they do warrantee their products, but i should know something by friday im hoping.

This kind of **** pisses me off that you have to send it to them for them to even think about doing anything for you!! What happens if thats your only car and source of transportation and you have to wait a month for them to do anything for you?? I think their warranties are terrible!! But i gurantee you thats goin to be the problem w/mine too and they will make me send it in as well and wait!!

Ya..i mean i have talked with them, and they said it might be because of a faulty install, but im not gonna say who did it until i figure out whats wrong, cause i dont wanna bad mouth them just yet. All i know is i spend $4000 to get my trans built, and i never even got a good chance to really launch it or anything, and it goes out. now the place that did my rebuild is trying to get me to spend another $1000 to do a new clutch, flywheel, and slave. I mean i cant afford another $1000, and this car is my daily driver, and ive been out of a car for 3 weeks now, so im hoping to GOD, that spec replaces it, or i dunno what im gonna do.

More aggressive clutches don't last that long under daily driver type conditions, from what I've seen...

That said, things like an adjustable master cylinder help with engagement points. I'd look into one of those and see if that helps you get more life out of the clutch.

I am definatly going to tell them about EVERYBODYS problems on here that they are having w/their clutches. And this waiting around for me to send the clutch and them to inspect it and send it back bullshit just isnt going to fly since this is on my daily driver as well. And i dont see why they even have to inspect them all when they know that 3/4 of the clutches they sent out were junk!!

spec should be more specific on the use of their clutches if thats the case.

Plus, I never understood their "500 mile" break-in period... especially when other companies don't even have a break-in period. For instance, RAM tells you just to take your Powergrip clutch out and beat the snot out of it right out of the box... and since I drive my car maybe once or twice a week, it sometimes takes me a full month or two to put 500 miles on my car, so I went with the RAM.

well....i've had two rams go out 1,500mi for the 910 and 2,500mi for the 980. i'm now sanding my clutch to ram,they said they will take care of it. well see how good.

you have a 10 second car though. what about us bolt-on cars? i'm gonna need a new clutch soon and from the looks of this, i might just get a z06 clutch. they should warrant there stuff somehow

if they say break it in with stop and go driving for 500 miles, break it in like that, if not, then expect problems. I did exactly as they said, and i have 4k on mine...lovin every minute of it
