Default smell after clutch break in

i just rolled on 430 miles with my spec 2 and decided i'd give her a whirl or two at WOT. everything was good, but there was a distinctly burning smell after the runs (on the street, not the track). i didn't know if that was normal or not to do the first time a clutch sees WOT. the more i did WOT runs, the less the burning smell. what do you guys think? car did shift fine. drill mod and upgraded hydraulics were also installed when the spec 2 was.

I myself smelled it when I first bought my car new from the dealer. As well I am getting ready to put another clutch in.. Heavy duty Ram setup. But I would venture out to say it is normal. Kinda like new brake pads. They will smell the first few times you really lock them up after having them installed. Just my opinion. Hope it helps..

prolly not fully broken in...however, it sounds like you are fine if it is going away...how many of those miles were city driving...clutch manufacturers recommend their break-in as city driving...where there is a lot of shifting...

i live in austin, so there was a lot of true city driving. i got on it again today and it felt fine and had no smell at all, so i'm certain it's fine now. i guess it was very close to being fully broken in. what did that smell mean? bad on the clutch?

It doesnt sound too terrible since its new but my experience with a spec stage III is terrible considiring it was shot to **** in 3000 miles and my stock clutch lasted me 51000 miles. To me you are WAY better off choosing a different company preferably RAM.

I broke mine in with a line-locked burn out. Dumped from 2nd and shifted to 3rd. That was only cause the LL was installed at the same time. Other than that it only smelled for a little, now it's normal.
