Default Need Help (98 Camaro SS)

My Shifter is giving me problems, im having trouble putting it in reverse, i have to use my leg to put it in gear, please help if someone knows what i could do..thanks

mine does it sometimes too. i normally just cuss at it and then its back to normal. but there is a reverse lockout solenoid on the side of the tranny, you should check it out and make sure it hasnt come loose

mine does that also... what i usuallty do to help it go in reverse is throw it up in first.. it usually lines everything up nice and then it goes into reverse like butter... if i dont do that i just get a huge thud when the car finally does go into reverse

yeah, i always throw down into second before going into reverse, works easy as can be.

Is there performance selenoid's, because i had to replace them before, i think its gonna be alot of money for someone to look at it., wouldnt it be?

Does it grind or is it just hard to get into the gear? If it grinds you most likely have a synchro problem or could be a clutch issue.

It doesnt grind...But its a bitch to put it in gear..could something be bent in my tranny or stick? No clue +

On my ss someone had put a skip shift solenoid bypass on the reverse solenoid instead of on the 2nd gear spot. Was almost exactly like you say.
Make sure it's plugged in.

Another vote to check the reverse lock out solenoid, I had the same problem on my old M6
