downshifting
i have the stock shifter on my car and i have a really hard time finding say 3rd gear from either 5th or 6th and i really dont want to accidentally drop it into 1st at those speeds. would an aftermarket shifter help this?

yeah i was planning on getting a b/m ripper this summer when i get some $$$ and i knew they were better for the 2-3 shift i just wasnt sure if they helped with downshifting

Yep, I have the Ripper. It automatically goes to the center of your gearbox(between 3rd and 4th) so it's really easy to find all your gears. Also, the 2-3 shift is flawless. You don't even have to move the shifter over in the least bit. I just hammer mine up and it goes right to 3rd. No missed shifts=awesome.

I too have the Ripper and would highly recommend it. There is another thread on here too about what people like about thier shifters and that is what I said I liked about my B&M.I know when I am racing someone from a roll, and Im looking for third gear, I have faith that I will find it everytime and wont miss any gears when it counts the most.
