Default Walbro 340M to 340 replacement - Problems?

Hello,

I run the old racetronix duel Walbro intank, 2 GSS340M pumps. It worked well for a few years, but one pump has decided to call it quits. I need to replace the pump, but Walbro discontinued the GSS340M pump and now only provides the GSS340 with a slightly different inlet.

Can I replace the GSS340M pump with the normal GSS340 without any problems? Has anybody done this and lived to tell about it? Do I need to purchase or modify anything to get the normal-style GSS340 to work in place of the GSS340M?

Any insight before I go diving into my fuel system again would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Kevin

I haven't done it, but I would toss out there, that you might ought to go ahead and do both of them at the same time... Just something to think about.

The only difference between the two is the diameter on the inlet , which means you will just need the correct filter socks for each pump . We have plenty of them in stock if you want to upgrade both pumps to the gss340 with the right filter socks or even just one .

We have GSS340M's on the shelf. So does Thunder Racing and a few other Racetronix dealers.

Does anyone know what the part # for the 255 lph sock that goes on the end of the Walbro pump? A generic parts house part # would be convenient too.

Dont mean to hijack!!

It is not a common part. Walbro pumps must have a 30 micron filter sock!
Thunder Racing has these in stock as well.
