Default felpro head gaskets

Will my new felpro head gaskets hold up to about 11.5.1 compression without a problem. I have used these in the past and no prob but not near as much compression i might want to spray a lil in the future as well and dont plan to pull the new heads off anytime soon. If they wont what is the best and reasonable price to get good ones thanks for any help

Just picked up a set for myself from a Cometic distributor for ~$150... don't expect to save any money but it's definitely worth the peace of mind.

From what I've gathered, the Felpro 1041's tend to leak in nitrous applications. If you do the Cometics, make shure to put a light skim of copper spray adhesive on both sides. It makes them a little more forgiving. Unfortunatlly, I found that out the hard way.

Truth, that's why I got them from a distributor. If you get them from Cometic directly they have some sort of "waiting period" or something like that. They act like you're trying to buy a damn gun or something. Maybe they're providing this "cool off" period in case you were just really mad and the only way to take your aggression out was to order Cometics RIGHT THEN!!

LOL, hell a gun only takes 3 days where I live, and 1 minute in Texas. I agree though, I guess they go by the moddo "the best takes time"

Ironic, because that's the exact opposite motto we strive for in our LS1's

And after you have a 1 month wait time on gaskets you get this.

https://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/317890-cometics-leaking.html

I would come UNGLUED all pun intended.
Wait forever only to have them leak. F that.
BTW yes I am currently waiting on a set.
If anyone reads this and has a set of .045's in stock I will gladly buy them and cancel my order.

Yea I was reading about that one... that really sucks. I actually went out and bought some copper spray sealant after reading about that. I'm gonna spray mine nice and well before I do the initial install. Should be cake after that.

The fel-pro gaskets you have should be fine. If there just the standard gasket, they should be a graphite type and should seal great. The 1041's I was refering to are $70 a piece. I doubt that is what you have.

If you have the standard felpro gaskets would you be so kind as to measure the thickness of the gasket and post the info? Felpros tech line will not release that dimention, just measure them behind the fire ring .
thanks

We used the standard felpro gasket on my buddies old iron block with 11.6-1 and a 100 shot with no leaks.
The copper spray on the cometics was a trick I picked up from LPE. They used it on all their lsx motors.

thanks guys just got done putting the heads on. Sorry z-ya i didnt get to read in time but my buddy works up at orielys auto parts and i will get him to order another set to measure. But i will get it for ya. I would have had it running again tonight but for some reason on of my intake port gasket was ripped so i have to get a new one tomorrow along with a water temp sensor for the head since mine just broke on me (pos) I think this will be the last time my block will handle head swap. I was scared about it this time since i keep hearing cracking sounds but everything tighten up to specs and seems fine so i will find out hopefully tomorrow evening thanks guys
