Default oil pressure and German Syntec

After finding some, I finally switched over to German Syntec. I had been running Mobil 1 0W40 beforehand. But after switching, the oil pressure seems to have dropped about 5psi, maybe a little more across the board. I used the K@N 1007 filter before, and switched to the 2006 with the German Syntec. Right now the pressure is:

35-40psi hot idle
50 below 2000rpm
60ish above 3000
55 cold idle

Obviously there's nothing wrong here, but since the GC is about the same weight as the M1 oil and I'm using the bigger filter, I didn't think I'd get a pressure drop. Anyone else get similar results?

Mobil 1 0w40 is closer to 14cst at 100c, while GC 0w30 is 12.2 cst at 100c, so the thicker M1 will show higher pressure. Your oil pressure still looks very good though.

In my car (with GC 0w30 oil) I see 29psi at idle with 200F oil temps (my car is automatic with a 700rpm idle speed in drive) and about 42psi at 70mph (also when the oil temp is around 200F)

Wow I'm surprised your car is that low with the condition and mileage. Mine idles around 800 and it gets maybe a shade under 40psi after a long drive.

BTW, I've been lurking around again on BITOG (I'm mebanditws6 on there) and noticed the change in formulation of the GC for the 05. Anyone done any analyses with the new stuff yet?

I don't think that pressure is low at all, it's right on target.

Nobody has done an analysis on the new version of GC just yet, unless you count the analysis from Europe on Castrol SLX Longtec (which is most likely the same oil) That report was from a 1.8 turbo VW/Audi engine and it looked very good.
