Default 275's enough traction?

I want to get C6 rims, 18x9.5s in the front with 275/35/18 Goodyear Eagle F1 tires (I get a 25% discount on Goodyear and Dunlope). My question is should I go with 18x9.5's in the rear with 275/35/18 tires or 18x10.5's with 295/45/18 tires. I was thinking about getting the 9.5's to save money and b/c I could rotate tires and get a longer tread life. But will 275 give me enough traction with a lid, exhaust, shifter, and 4.10s or should I go with the 10.5's with 295/45/18 tires (do you think this sidewall size is too big). I know the bigger tires and rims will look awsome too. Any recommendations would be great!!!!!!! Thanks

I am on 285's now but had 275's before, with pretty much the same set up except for the 4:10, and I got pretty good traction on them

Sidewall is too big, on 18's run a 35 looks way better.

The 295/45/18 will be a 28.5 inch tall tire, whereas your stock tires are about 25.5 inches tall

yeah I figured a 45 series tire was to big but it was the only sizes, I am having serious issues finding wide enough tires from goodyear or dunlope.

Well on my T/A I can burn the stock goodyears thru 3rd, so if you really want traction, get something bigger than the 275's
Remember, if you get lots of traction, you may need at best an upgraded clutch, or at worst a new rear

Don't get the stock F1's get the F1 GS-D3's. Traction is a 100 times better. 275 in the GS-D3 should be plenty enough traction for you.

Yeah I agree, I am probably going to go with 18x9.5 with the 275/35/18 GS-D3's I am just afraid of traction problems with the 4.10's

Traction is a function of tire compound and sidewall flex, not width of tires. Wider tires help with handling. So, 275s will be fine.
